I’ve been wanting to do a detox for a while now, and I kept seeing the Jillian Michaels recipe on blogs and recipe websites. It seemed more manageable and realistic than other juice cleanses that require fasting or crazy recipes with millions of vegetables in them and I read that it makes you lose five pounds so I decided to try it.
It’s 60 ounces of water (which was not too much for me because I already drink a lot of water), a tablespoon of sugar-free cranberry juice, two tablespoons of lemon juice and a dandelion root tea bag. I could only find dandelion burdock and hawthorn leaves tea, which I’m sure is fine. I also happened to already have this Ocean Spray juice blend in my fridge when I started so I used that instead of tracking down the pure organic stuff. Here’s what I used:
So unfortunately for me, I didn’t lose 5 pounds, (it could have been the Ocean Spray lol) but I definitely did feel a lot healthier and energetic. My stomach felt really flat after just a couple of days, and I could really feel it cleaning me out. I definitely would recommend doing this cleanse if you’re trying to detox after a junk food binge or a night of heavy drinking. I also really liked the taste of the drink, which is part of what made it really easy. I’ll definitely do this again, or at least sip on it with meals!
