Earth Tones & A Shaggy Vest

IMG_9138

When I’m dressing casually for daytime, I love mixing earth tones, leather and denim. Today, I’m mixing all of those things together plus a textured, shaggy statement vest.

Vests are such a great way to make a statement, especially because you can really get them in any colour, texture or fabric. From leather to fur to shag, a vest can be a great piece to throw on and break up a neutral outfit.

I especially like wearing them over turtle necks, like the one I’m wearing today. I love how the top is fitted and structured and then it flows out unevenly at the bottom. It’s a great top to wear over jeans or tight bottoms because of how flowy and casual it is.

Not only is my top super comfy and casual, but my jeans are at the perfect stage of softening (they even have some holes in them, shhh!) so they’re basically like pajamas. I don’t know about you, but I find it so hard to break in a new pair of jeans because they’re so stiff and hard at first, so I end up wearing the same pair over and over again – hence the holes!

And of course I’ve added some rugged leather accessories to give my outfit a rustic, country feel. To top off my look, I’m wearing some of my favourite jewelry pieces: a set of stackable, bronzed rings and my quartz necklace (sending positive vibes your way!)

I also love these vintage sunglasses, they’re so feminine and the amber hue of the frame is so pretty and unique.
