Soul Sunday: You grow what you sow

Tea flowersI constantly need to remind myself that our thoughts create our reality. It can be so easy to forget this and allow our thoughts to travel in a downward spiral towards negativity, but working hard to keep our thoughts positive and uplifted is so crucial if we want to manifest even more positivity.

I see reminders of this concept everywhere, and I recently made the quote “it’s all in the mind: where your mind goes, energy flows” from Tiny Devotions my phone background so I could be reminded every time I glance at it.

Lately, I’ve been allowing myself to think about the world in a pessimistic way, assuming that it’s simply the objective truth. But everything is subject to how you perceive it, and a bad situation will only seem worse the more you dwell on its less than favourable aspects.

At first, I thought of this concept as sort of abstract and confusing, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it makes total sense in a concrete way. For example: if you think you’re unattractive, you’ll begin to act unattractive by slumping your shoulders, looking down, and generally adopting unattractive body language. Your negative thoughts about yourself have become a self-fulfilling prophecy, and you’ve only made the situation worse, if not brought it on altogether.

It’s for this reason that keeping our thoughts high-vibrational and positive (even when it feels completely insane) is so important. As one of my favourite quotes by legendary children’s author goes:

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”

I think this quote applies here because it sums up the idea of keeping an open mind about all the beautiful possibilities at your fingertips. Your thoughts are seeds in the garden of life — choose wisely!

How do you remind yourself to stay optimistic? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Yes! I strongly believe this too! Positive thoughts bring positive energy into your life. Have to seen the documentary called, “The Secret”? You can find it on Netflix if you have it. I think you will thoroughly enjoy it as much as I do! They talk about law of attraction and all that good stuff. My favorite is making a vision board, the more you look at the board filled with what you want in life, the more you think about it, and the more it becomes reality. I loved this post!
