I don’t know if this makes me a traitor to summer — but I’m already looking forward to the fall season! Lately I’ve been finding myself eyeing the greys, blacks and wools in my closet and dreaming about sipping on a chai tea latte in a scarf and boots.
Today’s outfit is a reflection of my sudden craving for fall clothes. The drapey shawl and black hues of my ensemble totally remind me of chilly days by the fire, and I can’t wait to start wearing even more layers! I guess I am a true Canadian at heart.
While I’m a huge fan of colors and whites, there’s nothing like donning a little black dress with a feminine shawl on top. It always creates an elegant, timeless look — you really can’t go wrong!
To accessorize, I threw on a couple of gold bangles and my Mala Collective necklace. I feel like the orangey-brown and purple colors of the necklace broke up the blacks a bit and helped to personalize the look.
Believe it or not, I got this dress at Pink ages ago in some sort of two for one sale. I always say that when it comes to basics, there’s no need to splurge if you’re on a tight budget!
The shawl is from Aritzia and the bangles are from Mendocino. I still swear that Aritzia has the comfiest shawls and loose sweaters out there!
