How to make the perfect charcuterie board

Charcuterie boardThere’s really nothing better to do on a Friday night than share a big, juicy charcuterie board with friends. Munching on a fresh baguette with delicious cheeses and spicy red pepper jelly is always such a treat, and putting the board together is almost just as fun as eating it!

In my opinion, every charcuterie board should have at least five components: meats, cheeses, bread/crackers, spreads and garnishes. This makes every bite the perfect amounts of salty, sweet, bitter and carbalicious!

There are literally thousands of combinations you can put together to make your charcuterie board look and taste amazing. Every time I go to my local cheese shop I always find something new and exciting to place on my board and change up the dynamic — last time it was delicious rose petal jelly (yes that’s a thing!).

Check out a few of my favourites below to see how I design my charcuterie board:

Cheese: Mull of Kintyre cheddar from Scotland and brie
Meats: Spicy Genoa salami and kolbasz Hungarian sausage
Bread/crackers: Carr’s water crackers, sesame baguette and olive baguette
Spread: Red pepper jelly and rose petal jelly
Garnishes: Cornichons, kalamata olives
