To me, there’s nothing more pure, natural and healing than taking gifts from the garden to make things like ointments and beverages. If I was living in Elizabethan times, I’d probably be known as the local witch for my penchant for potions and recipes using natural ingredients!
I love incorporating elements of the natural world into my diet and beauty routine. Nothing is more healthy to me than taking care of our bodies using the things that are closest to us in DNA like plants and vegetables.
In my opinion, everything about roses is beautiful. Their smell, their name, even their thorns are simply divine.
And this also goes for their various forms. Rose hips are just as beautiful as roses in full bloom, if not more so!
Rose hips also have so many healing uses and benefits. They can help with afflictions like colds, infections, fevers, dry skin and arthritis through various forms like tea and essential oils.
Looking at the precious little rose hips in my garden, I saw an opportunity to try out something new and make the most of the amazing things this planet has to offer. Check out the steps below to make some of your own:
- Pick some rose hips from your garden and wash them.
- Put them in a pot and fill the pot up with water.
- Bring the water to a boil and let it boil for about five minutes.
- Smush the roses with a spoon.
- Leave it for about 20 minutes.
