Fresh Summer Blues

IMG_5612After a long month of travelling around Europe, it feels unbelievably great to be back home. While I love going on adventures, I truly am a homebody at heart, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than cuddling up in bed with a good movie or hanging out in my backyard.

Now that a month has gone by since I left, all the lush greenery of spring is in full bloom, and I can feel sweet summer descending on us already. There’s nothing like a super short warm season to make you appreciate the lovely weather, and I’m making it my aim to get out and about as much as possible before it’s already fall again!

Today, I’m wearing this cute off the shoulder top from Old Navy with my favourite pair of light wash Rag & Bone jeans. This marks my first blog post under the name Aiming for Audrey, which I came up with during my travels.

As some of you may remember, my blog used to be called The Lilac Mermaid, and after I changed its name to Kenzie Patterson, I missed having a fun handle to grab people’s attention and let them know what I’m all about. Ever since watching Charade and Breakfast at Tiffany’s as a kid, I’ve admired the demure and ladylike style of Audrey Hepburn, and as I was contemplating what I wanted my blog to be called, it just clicked: Aiming for Audrey!

Not only was this inspiring artist such a classically elegant style icon, but to me, she also represents values like kindness, wisdom and charity, which go hand in hand with outward beauty. It was the perfect name for my fashion and lifestyle blog, which I’ve also used as an online diary to document my spiritual journey as I try to cultivate virtues like compassion and positivity.

But enough rambling about my blog’s new name! Check out some photos below of today’s outfit and let me know what you think in the comments below.
