Three Visualizations for When You Feel Down

The power of visualizations is undeniable:  not only can they calm us down and take us to another time and place, but they can also help us realize our dreams in a real and tangible way. Escaping into another time-space dimension when you’re stuck in a negative attitude can do wonders for your mood and energy levels by refreshing your perspective and giving you a much-needed break from reality.

While escapism isn’t always the right answer, sometimes all we need is a little mind vacation to put our senses back in order and help us see that there is more to life than meets the eye. The next time you’re in bed trying to fall asleep, let your mind wander to one of the visualizations below. But be careful what you visualize because you just might get it!

1. Visualize your perfect day. What clothes are you wearing? Where do you live? What is your work day like? There are truly no limits to this one, so use your imagination! Not only can this one help you get clear on what it is you truly desire, but it can also just be super fun imagining your optimum reality.

2. Think about a time when you felt completely blissful, at peace and happy. Were you on the beach on vacation? Surfing? Doing yoga on a beautiful day in the park? Whatever it was, try to harness the feeling of being free and totally relaxed by taking yourself back to that moment.

3. Imagine meeting your higher self. This version of you lives in the clouds and is completely loving, selfless and healthy. What does she look like, sound like, act like? If you visualize your higher self enough, eventually you will become one with her and adopt all her loving and graceful qualities. Wouldn’t that be nice?
