Friday Faves: Links and Things

Hi loves! It’s time for another Friday Faves blog post where I share the things that have been inspiring me this week.

Lately I’ve just been diving into so much personal development content that I really feel like I’ve improved my mindset in a big way. There’s definitely something to be said for immersing yourself in as much inspiring and uplifting content as you can get your hands on because it really does change your life and help you uplevel in every area.

Here are some of the things that are inspiring me this week or that I’ve just been incorporating into my routine lately. I hope they inspire you too!

  1. Last night I went down a rabbit hole of Bob Proctor videos. If you don’t know who Bob Proctor is, he’s one of the most experienced success and manifestation coaches in the game. He was in the movie The Secret and he actually happens to be from Toronto originally. I watched this entire interview with Lewis Howes and I was so inspired I felt like my brain was going to explode. He talks about breaking through limiting beliefs, deciding what you want from life, thought frequencies, gratitude and so much more. Some of the top tips I took away from the video including gratitude journalling, sending love to people that are annoying you and living in the now. I highly recommend listening to it!
  2. The Balanced Blonde has been one of my favourite bloggers for years now because I just feel so aligned with her message and energy. It’s crazy how I really feel like I know her as a friend when I’ve never even met her in person. Her podcast has been a huge source of light and inspiration in my life for a long time, and this week she dropped an amazing episode with Peter Crone AKA “the Mind Architect.” Peter shares his interesting perspective on healing, transformation and helping people like CEOs and professional athletes break through limiting beliefs. It’s fascinating stuff!
  3. Vega Protein and Energy. I’ve been eating Vega protein powders and bars almost every day for years now. It’s probably an unhealthy obsession at this point but I just love it. I usually buy the vanilla or chocolate regular protein powder or proteins & greens but I recently discovered the protein & energy at Healthy Planet and it caught my eye. It contains caffeine from organic coffee fruit and MCT oil (medium-chain triglycerides), which comes with a whole host of benefits. I was recently listening to Kelly LeVeque of Be Well by Kelly on the Skinny Confidential podcast and she recommended adding MCT oil to your morning smoothie because it helps keep you fuller for longer. It’s also one of the ingredients in bulletproof coffee because of its brain-boosting and energizing powers. Another tip I loved from that podcast was Kelly’s “fab four” rule: include greens, protein, fat and fibre at every meal to stay full and avoid crashes. Anyway, I love this protein powder because it DOES keep me full for so long, energizes me and tastes great. I use it exactly the same way I’ve been using the regular Vega protein powder for years: mix one scoop with 2 tablespoons of almond butter, a few splashes of unsweetened almond milk and top with a quarter cup of mixed nuts. It’s so delicious!
