Ireland Part Three: Longueville House

After a short stay in Ardmore, we decided to head to Cork County and visit Longueville House, a gorgeous country estate near Mallow. As we drove up the long gravel drive, surrounded by sheep’s pastures, wide open fields and lush green trees, it became clear that this was the quintessential Irish country house–the perfect place for long walks, relaxing with a cup of tea, or just rambling through the gardens.

But this morning, as we investigated the place further, we learned that it was much more than a beautifully rustic farmhouse. The 500-acre property is ripe with gorgeous sights, from the original castle ruins by the Black Water River to the 2.5-acre walled garden complete with an apple orchard. It really is the most idyllic Irish countryside estate (muddy dogs, wellies and all!), but don’t take my word for it, check out some of my pics below and step into the pastoral world of Longueville:
